과제 6. Detailed chemical abundance analysis of very metal-poor stars ([Fe/H] < -2.0)

  • 개괄
    • Very metal-poor (VMP; [Fe/H] < -2.0) stars provide a fossil record of the nucleosynthesis from previous generations of stars. So, the detailed elemental abundances of these objects can yield not only the various physical properties of the progenitors of such stars, but the history of chemical evolution throughout cosmic time. For the investigation of all of these issues, however, we first need to understand the general trends (or peculiarities) in the elemental abundance patterns of these objects in a very broad context, which is the goal of this project.
  • 질문
    • What can you notice from the abundance trends of VMP stars?
    • Are there any peculiarities in these abundance patterns?
    • Can you separate the VMP stars into sub-groups based on their chemical abundances?
