과제 9. Searches for chemical signatures of the first generation of stars

  • 개괄
    • After the Big Bang, the first generation of stars (Population III stars) was born in metal-free gas clouds. The nucleosynthetic products from massive Pop III stars should be imprinted in the second generation of stars (Pop II stars). Thus, if the low-mass Pop II stars are still alive, we are able to understand how the nucleosynthesis occurred in the Pop III stars. Moreover, aided by models of supernova elemental yields, we can provide constraints on the mass range of the Pop III stars. So, in this project, we attempt to search for the nucleosynthetic signatures that the Pop III stars produced.
